2 vanilla pods, cut up in half lengthways  
2 tsp vanilla extract  
500g recent blackberries (or your favorite fruit), elective 

For the chocolate-orange gradual cooker rice pudding (3 Syns per serving):  

1½ stage tbsp cocoa powder  
orange segments  
1 stage tbsp chocolate dessert sauce  

For the cinnamon and apple gradual cooker rice pudding: 

½ tsp cinnamon  
½ tsp nutmeg  
chopped apple, to serve  
small mint leaves and pared lemon rind, to serve (elective)

1. Rinse the rice below chilly water and drain nicely. Tip it into your gradual cooker with the milk and 500­­ml water, then stir within the sweetener.
